Maybe the best female cyclist ever worldwide, Leontien Zijlaard- van Moorsel. After a successful cycling career in 1994 she was forced to stop early - she had told herself that she could improve her performance by lose weight extremely. What seemed the key to success, disrupted her life for years. In the end she only weighed 42 kilos and she was a wreck when she disappeared from the platoon. The cycling world had written her off. But thanks to her willpower and with the help of her family she succeeded in fighting back to the top level: the Olympic Games of  Sydney. Michael Jordan
Many people consider Michael Jordan the greatest basketball player ever. The sports legend played for the Chicago Bulls during thirteen seasons. On the 16th of November 1996 he scored for the 36th time more than 50 points. In total he has scored more than 25,000 points in his whole career. Jordan has experienced very hard times too. In 1993 his father was murdered at a robbery and he stopped playing basketball. 

Nevertheless he returned to the NBA. After a 'difficult' start in 1995, everything went well as from 1996. He won his 4th championship with the Bulls. After many titles eventually Michael stopped and in 2001 he returned for the second time to the NBA. Now he made his team mates score and thus he showed not only to be the best individually, but also to be able to inspire others as a person. More ....

Mohammed Ali
From a painter's boy at the countryside of Kentucky to one of the most celebrated sports heroes of the past century. No boxer in history appeals as much to the imagination as Mohammed Ali. His exceptional performance in the ring combined with his charismatic appearance outside the ring made him an icon, and as an explicit frontman of the black power movement he was of great importance in the battle against discrimination. 

No heavyweight boxer has defended his world title as many times as Mohammed Ali (Cassius Clay). In 2005 Ali received the American Medal for the Freedom of Speech given to him by president George W. Bush, for his merits for the sports and the Civil Rights Movement.  More ....
