Tiger Woods
Golfer Tiger Woods, the # 1 of the world, succeeded in 1998 in that which no colleague had ever done: he won four 'majors' in a row. His life wasn't always that bright. Tiger had to conquer many prejudices in the golf circuit. The lessons that he learned to reach the absolute top are universal
The following things amongst others leaded to the fact that Tiger according to many people became the best golfer of all times and that he could reach the "perfect swing":
Talent
Most of us could hardly walk at the age of 2. Tiger Woods already could hit a ball really well, as you can see in the old film on Youtube that you can find in the right column. His talent that is clearly present and the encouraging of his father Earl laid the foundations for his perfect swing.
Ambition
It's obvious that only talent isn't enough. Every success begins with a hunger for more, for growth, or ambition ...
Tiger from childhood on clearly had a burning fire to be the best and he trained intensively every day. The sacrifice to do anything to reach his goals, added greatly to his staying ahead of the competition in the years after. In the right column the corresponding ambition fragment. Earl Woods tells that Tiger at an early age already was 'mentally tough' and that he always encouraged the development of Tiger. At a certain moment Tiger turned his ambition of being the best into the ambition of being the best of all times.
Visualizing/Focus
Tiger's coach learned him to be more creative, by totally visualizing his swings in advance. Especially the visualizing causes something "magically" by which the ball is really hit as imagined in advance.
Focus on the ball was a quality that he really mastered at an elderly age. Tiger Woods has learned to totally focus on his game, and also when he is playing he is totally concentrated on the ball and the field. In such a way that he even ends up in a sort of "Peak performance zone" or trance, in which everything around him seems to vanish ... His mental coach and he himself tell about it in the short film.
Team Spirit
Though Tiger already became the best, he surrounded himself by a team of specialists in order to be able to improve his swing. Despite his skills, Tiger Woods can't do it on his own. He gathered around him a team of specialists, who each on a special field has to improve the performance of Tiger Woods. One of them manages the team, the other looks after the materials, the third makes his arrangements, and the fourth carries them out, or hands out his materials. Everyone is a vital link in the whole to be able to outperform.
Only 1 mm difference in his drive or his position can make a lot of difference after 200 metres. Tiger Woods has allowed someone to coach him to become more 'outstanding' and together with his team of perfectionists he outran the competition. All the above-mentioned points made Tiger Woods unique.
