Lewis Hamilton
The 22-year-old Briton made his debut in the Formula 1 in 2007 in a spectacular way: he scored stand after stand and won the race four times. Up to the last race Hamilton leaded the championship.
In 2007 in Brasil Hamilton had good credentials to become world champion, but he got off to a bad start. Raikkonen as well as Alonso did overtake him. In an attempt to catch them back immediately, Hamilton went off the road. He got back on track, but a moment later his McLaren broke down temporary. Hamilton started a well-done overtaking race, but the 5th place that he needed to get the world title, stayed out of sight. In the final score he became second with only one point less than the new world champion Kimi Räikkönen and equal to resigning world champion Fernando Alonso. This was a heavy blow for the young Hamilton. Nevertheless he choose to restructure this setback into a new focussed attempt in 2008.
The championship was not reached until the last race of the season, again the one in Brasil. Because of a heavy shower in the last eight laps of the race, it seemed for a moment that Hamilton would let the championship slip from his hands again. In the last bend however Hamilton passed Timo Glock. By doing so Hamilton still became fifth and he reached the needed final score. On the 2nd of November 2008 Hamilton reached his first title in the Formula 1.
Because of this result Lewis Hamilton was the youngest as well as the first colored racer who ever wrote a world championship in the Formula 1 to his name.
Lewis was already a gifted kart racer when he was a kid. In the Youtube film below you can see the dream and the vision that young Hamilton declared already!
